Scott, I think the following email I received about you is what’s known in the business as “the love.” You may be moving to another market, but you’ll still be no. 1 in this couples’ heart. Sigh.
Scott Sams has a very large following in the greater D/FW area. Channel 11 would truly benefit if Scott Sams decides to join the CBS station. My husband and I have enjoyed watching him for many of his dedicated and devoted years with WFAA/Channel 8. Since Mr. Sams departure, we have simply changed the channel. We are not alone. If I could say anything to Scott Sams personally, I would say – Remember Renee’ Syler (sp?) and where is she now!?! I know and so do most of her fans and the nation! My husband and I recall when Renee’ and Scott worked together EARLY in the morning and how their good humor and “chemistry” would brighten our day and make us laugh. Scott Sams is an excellent newscaster and very personable. Take heart Scott Sams…you have many, many fans who would like to see you go to the local CBS station…better yet…a national morning show! If WFAA won’t give you the recommendation you need there are several greater D/FW fans that WILL! No joke.
