Adam, one can reasonably draw the conclusion that Mailer blames Wu for “leech[ing] out much of the initiative and integrity of the Democratic Party” and “violat[ing] the old American liberty that you can make up your own mind, and then, even better, proceed to change it.” If that’s true, she’s working harder than I might have thought. Perhaps that explains this line from her bio:
If I had two spare hours, I would sleep.
