I have very much enjoyed not paying to read about Herb on your blog today. The picture reminded me that when Herb is about halfway through one cigarette, he lights up another. He leaves the newer one in an ashtray so that he can get right to smoking it when he’s finished with the older one. That’s Southwest-style efficiency.
During one of our meetings, he must have lost track of which was older and which was newer, because he just started alternating between the two, eventually lighting up a third so he’d have that waiting when the others were gone.
Man, I miss Herb.
