Crayton Webb, the mayor’s chief of staff, just called to say he’s leaving City Hall for a government relations gig at Mary Kay (basically, he’s going to be a lobbyist). Any journalist who has dealt with the mayor’s office will tell you that Crayton’s entire wardrobe of dress shirts is populated only with French cuffs. So I’m sure he’ll be a great lobbyist. But he was also a very capable chief of staff, and I will miss hearing his voice next time I call Miller’s office.
Crayton started out as a journalist. Then he went into politics. Now he’s a lobbyist. We wish him luck with his downward slide.
