State Farm, which just leased another 812,000 square feet of North Texas office space, plans to hire about 500 employees in the Dallas area over the next six months. The insurer says it is looking for both support/entry-level workers and technical/professional-level employees.

A “career showcase” will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on July 11 at the Renaissance Dallas hotel at 900 E. Lookout Drive in Richardson. From the company:

“Area residents, as well as those interested in career opportunities, are encouraged to come find out more about State Farm, and the variety of career opportunities available with American’s leading insurer. This ‘showcase’ event is not a jobs fair, but an informational/educational opportunity. A jobs fair for interviews will be scheduled at a later date this summer.

State Farm representatives will be on hand at the event to provide information and answer questions.
