Puck Drops on Dallas Stars Playoff Run Tonight. Your (and now, because there is no Dallas Mavericks basketball, My) Dallas Stars take on the Minnesota Wild at 8:30. They’re ready to run through a brick wall. Or skate through one. StrongSide has a guide for both optimists and pessimists and Mike joined us on EarBurner, too, to get bandwagon fans up to speed.

‘Unsettled Weather’ Coming. It’s going to be warmer to start the week and cooler to close it out. But this is the part of the forecast that caught my eye: “Unsettled weather will make a return by Tuesday. A few isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible due to a disturbance and the alignment of the dryline.” So dramatic.

Today Marks Ten Years Since the Fertilizer Plant Explosion in West, Texas. I think most of you know I grew up in West, a few hundred yards from where the fertilizer plant once stood. The north end of town is completely different now, and it is strange to go back. Obviously much stranger for the people who still live there, for whom I doubt it feels like a decade has passed. On Saturday, the city remembered the 15 people killed in the explosion: Morris Bridges, Perry Calvin, Jerry Dane Chapman, Cody Frank Dragoo, Kenneth Harris, Adolph Lander, James Matus, Judith Ann Monroe, Joseph “Joey” Pustejovsky, Cyrus Adam Reed, Mariano C. Saldivar, Kevin William Sanders, Douglas Snokhous, Robert Snokhous, and William “Buck” Uptmor, Jr.
