As head of Boston Consulting Group’s Dallas office, Erin George works with clients in luxury retail, restaurants, tourism, and more. One of the world’s Big Three management consulting firms, the Massachusetts-based enterprise has seen a big jump in demand for its services, George says. “Our performance over the last 12 months has been incredible—like nothing I have seen in over 20 years of working in the consulting industry.”

Get to know more about the consulting leader in this extended version of her Dallas 500 profile.

Education: The University of Texas at Austin (MBA), University of Southern California (BSBA)

First Job:  “I was a summer camp counselor the summer between 7th and 8th grade.”

Biggest Risk: “I moved to Australia when I was 23 years old to work in the Melbourne office of The Monitor Group. It was hard—very hard—and I was so homesick. But I made a lot of new friends, got certified in scuba diving, did some great traveling, and learned a lot about grit and resilience.”

Destination of Choice: “Los Angeles. It’s where I was born and raised, and my parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends still live there.”

Hobby/Passion: “I got very into jigsaw puzzles during the pandemic, so much so that I joined the White Mountain Puzzle loyalty program. Putting together a puzzle is much like the process of starting a big new client project; at first, everything seems overwhelming and a bit chaotic. But if you break it down into sections, it becomes more manageable. Everything starts to take shape, and you can see where you are headed.”

Local Fare: “My favorite local restaurant is Neighborhood Services on Lovers. I love the food and atmosphere—homey, great music, unpretentious, friendly service. I always start with the Crispy Asparagus and Butcher’s Prime Meatballs.”

Fun Fact: “I went to high school with Kim and Kourtney Kardashian. We were all just normal girls wearing school uniforms back then!”

Second Home: “We have a place in Malakoff on Cedar Creek Lake. We wanted something that we could easily drive to on weekends that felt like a real escape.”

Walkup Song: “I’d choose ‘Eye of the Tiger’ by Survivor. It’s hard not to get in the zone when listening to that song; it evokes an ‘I mean business’ vibe.”

Must-Listen: “I absolutely love Dax Shepard’s podcast, ‘Armchair Expert.’  He interviews the most interesting people across a wide range of topics, and I always feel smarter after listening to each episode.”

Bucket List: “I’d love to one day be the commencement speaker at Marymount High School, the all-girls high school I went to in Los Angeles.”

A Better Dallas: “I would love to see more local hiking trails. This is one thing I miss about Los Angeles; it was a short drive to great hiking locations in the Santa Monica Mountains.”
