Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 267 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths on Wednesday.

Pfizer’s children vaccine receives final clearance for distribution, reports The Dallas Morning News. The children’s vaccine is one-third the dose given to adults and teens and follows the same schedule as adult doses. More than 400,000 doses have arrived in Texas as of Tuesday. 162,000 more doses are expected to arrive Wednesday. Pediatricians’ offices, pharmacies, hospitals, schools, and health clinics are set to distribute vaccines this week.

DFW pharmacies are opening COVID vaccine appointments for kids starting Nov. 6, WFAA reports. CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart are among the DFW pharmacies providing Pfizer’s child vaccinations starting this weekend. Book appointments online at these pharmacies’ websites. The vaccine requires two doses three weeks apart, and two additional weeks for full protection. Children who are fully vaccinated before Thanksgiving will have full protection by Christmas.

Denton health officials report a fourth day of fewer than 75 hospitalizations after a recent spike of over 200 daily hospitalizations, WFAA reports.  As of Monday, Denton County is at a high COVID risk level. 56% of Denton county’s population is fully vaccinated.
