Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported TK new COVID-19 cases and TK deaths on Tuesday.


CDC panel recommends COVID-19 vaccines for children five to 11, WFAA reports. The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices unanimously voted that the benefits from Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children outweigh any risks. Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky must sign off on the recommendation before it is made available for use.


Texas extends emergency SNAP food benefits for November, CBS 11 reports. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission will allocate more than $310 million to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. This extension is expected to benefit more than 1.5 million Texan households.


COVID-related constitutional amendments on the ballot for Election Day, KERA reports. Proposition 6 would give long-term care facilities the right to in-person visits from an essential care giver. Proposition 3 would ban government restrictions on religious services.
