Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 102 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Friday. The county isn’t reporting numbers over the holiday weekend.


In Mount Pleasant, Texas, local health officials faced a population that was very hesitant to be vaccinated from COVID-19, but with the help of trusted voices in the community, working through existing networks, and taking the vaccine out into the community, the city doubled its vaccination rate. Texas is reporting the lowest number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in a year, according to the Texas Tribune. One in three Texans are fully vaccinated.
