Abbott bans school districts and local governments from mask mandates. Dallas is sending PPE to India.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 72 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths on Monday.


Via executive order, Governor Greg Abbott has banned school districts or local governments from issuing or enforcing mask mandates. After June 4, schools can no longer ban mask mandates, the Dallas Morning News reports.


Officials in Travis and Harris County are rolling back some of the protections put in place by COVID-19 and dropped their threat level, allowing for vaccinated residents to have more freedom. The Texas Tribune has more.


The City of Dallas, the Indian-American CEO Council, and The Dallas Foundation are partnering to send $1 million worth of personal protective equipment to the Indian city of Jaipur, KERA reports.
