Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 2,994 cases and 21 deaths on Wednesday. “Our hospitals are stretched very thin right now and our healthcare heroes have been working tirelessly since last spring,” he tweeted.

The City of Dallas has a Black COVID-19 Task Force, which is led by Dallas council member Casey Thomas. The group says the South Dallas mega-center has confusing registration and scheduling, and that onsite and logistics and scheduling the second dose need some work. 1,600 vaccinations took place the first day. The Dallas Morning News has more.

The pandemic is causing increases in depression, anxiety, and thoughts of suicide for students and parents alike. The Texas Tribune has information and resources to help children who are struggling with their mental health.

If you or someone you know is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, residents can sign up at one of the vaccine distribution hubs around DFW. WFAA has more on how.
