Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 3,527 new cases on Saturday and Sunday, and five deaths in a possible uptick following the Thanksgiving holiday.

North Texas bars close and restaurants reduce capacity amidst rising COVID-19 hospitalizations and case totals. Closures and capacity reductions occurred after COVID-19 hospitalizations exceeded 15 percent capacity per Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order earlier this year, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

The CDC released new guidelines for individuals who traveled over the Thanksgiving holiday. Health officials recommend that anyone who traveled over the holiday remain home or receive a coronavirus test. The Dallas Morning News reported a variety of other tips to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

After battling COVD-19 in the hospital for multiple weeks, a 35-year-old Army Veteran and father of five died last week. Matthew Law experienced a fever and severe body aches in the weeks leading up to his passing. “He said it felt like he broke every bone in his body at once, it was just so excruciating,” his wife told NBC News.
