Dallas County adds 629 new cases, as the county is "going in the wrong direction."

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 629 new COVID-19 cases with one death. “Unfortunately, we are currently going in the wrong direction, but I know together we can turn it around and get to a better place for the fall,” he said via statement.


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new information about the size of COVID-19 droplets and threat of airborne transmission. Small particles can linger in the air for hours, The Dallas Morning News reported.


Forty-two percent of Texans said they plan to receive a COVID-19 vaccination upon availability in a poll conducted by the University of Texas and The Texas Tribune. The results show a 28 percent decrease since previous polling in March, The Texas Tribune reported.


Denton County Commissioner Bobbie Mitchell tested positive for COVID-19 this week. Commissioners court meetings are being held via Zoom due to Mitchell quarantining, WFAA reported.
