Texas Health Resources (THR) is expanding its Denton surgery center with the launch of a 19,000-square-foot multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The freestanding facility began development in June 2020 to address increased need in the Denton community.

The ASC will operate as a joint-venture between THR, Surgical Care Affiliates, and local surgeons. The center will be located on the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton campus.

“We are so proud to be part of this collaboration to expand healthcare services to the Denton area,” said Texas Health Denton president Jeff Reecer via release.

The new expansion will replace The Texas Health Surgery Center Denton, a smaller facility on the hospital campus that is no longer meeting the needs of the rapidly growing community. Denton County is currently the ninth most populous county is Dallas.

Service line specialties featured at the new ASC will include general surgery, orthopedics, dental, plastic and reconstructive surgery, gynecology, gastroenterology, pain management, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, and otorhinolaryngology (ENT). The facility will consist of two waiting areas and three operating rooms. The center will be delivered by MedCore Partners with anticipated completion in April 2021.
