Ezekiel Elliott tests positive and Dallas County adds 305 cases. Governor Abbott scolds 20-somethings.

Dallas County reported 305 cases and one death on Monday, and experts are predicting a continued rise in cases despite conditions in late May appearing as if they were leveling off. KERA has more.

Governor Abbott says young people are testing positive for COVID-19 in higher numbers, and scolded them for not taking the disease seriously, wearing masks, and taking other measures. Though Abbott didn’t have statistics, he said there is a “record pace” of 20-somethings testing positive, The Dallas Morning News reports.

After Dallas County’s sixth straight day of more than 300 cases, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said the hospitalizations are just the tip of the iceberg of those who actually have the disease, many of whom are sick but not yet in the hospital, DMN reports.
