There’s been a lot of will-he-won’t-he talk surrounding Chandler Parsons following his knee injury. And even though he’s out for the season, we caught up with him to parse out his fitness secrets like what he eats for breakfast, how he sneaks in a quick workout, and ahem just how exactly he gets those rock hard abs.

If you’ve got only 20 minutes to work out, what’s your routine?
I would do a lot of core to work on abs and it depends what I need to do that day. I’d either work out the legs or upper body, but probably just a full-body blast with just a little bit of legs, a little bit of upper body, chest, arms and just an accumulation of everything.

Tell us the secret for rock hard abs!
I do a whole bunch of different exercises. We have a set program where we do a variation of crunches and planks and different leg raises that all work a different part of your core.

What’s a typical daily workout routine?
If I don’t have practice, I’ll still come in and get some sort of rehab on whatever is bothering my body that day. I’ll always get a little core in and a little mobility in to stay flexible and loose. I’ve really been getting in to yoga this season so I do that about three times a week.

What’s your usual breakfast?
Breakfast is a ham, onion, mushroom, spinach, and cheese omlette with potatoes and bacon and orange juice and fruit.

What’s your go-to cheat meal?
Oh gosh, that’s tough. I love cheeseburgers from anywhere! French fries and a side of Ranch.

Who do you listen to while you work out?
Drake

How would you define being “healthy” and “fit”?
It’s a lifestyle. I think it’s a choice that you can make and it’s just eating healthy, getting proper rest, exercising and feeling good about yourself. Whatever that may be.
