Medical City Weatherford CEO Leaves For Granbury Hospital

|

Medical City Weatherford CEO David Orcutt is leaving the hospital to head back to Lake Granbury Medical Center, his previous employer.

Orcutt will start on June 25 with LGMC, where he previously served as CEO from 2006 to 2013. He’s been the Weatherford hospital’s CEO since then.

A spokesperson for Medical City Healthcare said in an email that the search for a new CEO is already underway, and that Orcutt lives in Granbury and made the decision to return at his own choosing. He has lived there for 11 years.

“LGMC is an excellent hospital,” Orcutt says in a statement. “It will be a privilege to again work with and support the medical staff, employees and volunteers at LGMC. My family enjoys being a part of the Granbury community, so returning to work here will also be personally rewarding.”

Irving-based Medical City Healthcare acquired what was at the time called Weatherford Regional Medical Center late last year.

Located about 30 miles west of Fort Worth, the hospital has 103 beds, a level IV trauma center, labor and delivery, high-level cardiac care, and about 600 full-time employees. It serves Parker County and surrounding areas. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

LGMC is located in Granbury, about 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth and 25 miles south of Weatherford. It’s a 73-bed facility that offers complete medical care and advanced surgery catered to rural Hood, Somerville, and Erath counties.

At LGMC, Orcutt will replace Derrick Cuenca, who accepted a job at MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and will depart on June 8. Cuenca’s tenure saw the additions of a 40,000-square-foot medical office building and 12-bed intensive care unit, as well as a $7.5 million operating room expansion. The hospital said in a news release that the patient load increased “immensely” under Cuenca.
