We have talked about Joanne Bondy’s incredible operation in the past but with Stocks & Bondy having their permanent location at the Dallas Farmers Marke, and with the continuous production of such great products, I thought a revisit was in order.

Joanne Bondy is one of the most highly acclaimed chefs in the Dallas area. Per her website: “she is, to date, the only female chef to have been honored three times by The James Beard Foundation.” When I stopped by the storefront and caught her prepping stocks in the back, there was not a mention of any of this, “her countless articles in national and international magazines,” or even any of her TV appearances.

In fact, when I asked Bondy about her products her humility left me wondering what exactly I should purchase from the refrigerator cases sitting out front of her beautiful kitchen. Soups, stocks, sauces, and broths are her specialty but the fresh eggs and the grab-and-go meals were more than tempting as well. I ended up with a ready-to-warm 8-ounce rib-eye, a side of pre-made corn casserole, navy bean with bacon soup and lemon basil oolong broth. Every bit of what I purchased was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and took just 15 minutes to heat in the oven per the directions on the package. The grab-and-go meals will fluctuate throughout the seasons so you may not always be able to find these at the storefront, but the soups and stocks will always be on hand.

The lemon basil oolong broth was delightfully refreshing. It is great when sipped on alone or added to your own recipe. The benefits of bone broth are just a perk in comparison to the taste of Stocks & Bondy products. With the heat ramping up these days, some may steer from warm liquids but these soups and broths are so full of flavor and nutrition that they leave you feeling satisfied and nourished. All products are made with all-natural, sustainable ingredients and locally sourced when possible. You can find Stocks & Bondy products at Jimmy’s Food Store, Royal Blue Grocery, Cox Farmers Market, and of course their storefront in Dallas Farmers Market. The space itself is quaint and impressive and can actually be rented out for private dinners with Chef Bondy. Visit their website to find out more.
