Not Too Shabby

You’ll find something old and something new at Ambrosia Vintage Vogue. PLUS: get the latest shop talk.
|

Decorator Nancy Chesser doesn’t refer to her style as “shabby chic”; she prefers “vintage vogue.” We say “to-ma-to.” She says “to-mah-to.” No matter what you call it, you’ll find something you love in her shop, Ambrosia Vintage Vogue,  which she co-owns with daughter Amber Heintz. The eclectic boutique at the Shops at Legacy in Plano is loaded with animal-shaped French milled soaps, Lollia bath products (one of Oprah’s faves), hand-painted tiles by Sid Dickens, and other scrumptious vintage home décor and accessories, including an antique zinc table. Take your pick for Mother’s Day, and you’ll make Mom beam.

GREAT GIFTS: Ambrosia carries a lovely mix of bath products (above right), accessories, and home accents (above).

Rounding out the whimsical selection are hip threads by Free People and Charlotte Tarantola, cuddly PJs by Threadcountzzz, baby digs by My Vintage Baby, and the popular Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags. (New mom Julia Roberts has one.) If you’re looking for a refreshing way to cover that old couch, check out the selection of LEE Industries coveralls. The Shops at Legacy, 5800 Legacy Dr., Ste. C8. 972-473-0287. www.shopsatlegacy.com.
