Chef Gerard Thompson belongs on the list of top chefs in North Texas. He has been creating sincere farm-to-market menus since 1997 at Rough Creek Lodge. Thompson was one of the first to embrace the concept and has steadfastly remained true to his mission. If you haven’t visited the lovely dining room at Rough Creek, then sign up for his cooking class at the Market Resource Center at the Dallas Farmers Market. This chef deserves your attention.

And so do the other chefs participating in the demonstration cooking classes produced by AIWF and the Dallas Farmers Market Friends. This year is number 22 for the informative and fun gatherings.

Classes are only $25 per class by Thursday in advance ($30 at the door). You can buy the whole series for $110. Do it by calling 214-653-8088. Or online.

Here is the upcoming talent for this fall:

October 14 – Taylor Kearney of Dish
October 21 – Jason West of Sundown at the Granada
October 28 – Abraham Salum of Salum
November 4 – Michele Brown, Executive Pastry Chef
November 11 – Nico Sanchez, Executive Chef for Meso Maya, Taqueria La Ventana & TorTaco
