This summer, why not revert back to the basics? We’re talking the classics. You might be able to learn a thing or two from the staples, whether it’s Mark Twain or Ernest Hemingway, Jane Austen or Thomas Hardy. Consider using those days by the pool to read up on the oldies. Learn something new from the timeless stories that you might have forgotten. What better place to find a room full of everything you may want, from tried-and-true tomes to fresh print, than at Half Price Books’ clearance sale?

Friday through Sunday at the Arlington Convention Center you will find books, music, and movies, each item going for $2 or less. Half Price Books has gathered up thousands of books, LPs, DVDs, and CDs from several of its locations in Texas and Oklahoma for this clearance event, and the used bookstore chain is putting it all out there. Parking costs $5, but admission is free, so swing by Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to gather a couple of good reads for your summer afternoons.
