Ethan Couch’s Dad May Join Him in Jail. The “Affluenza” teen’s father, Fred Couch, was convicted yesterday of falsely claiming to be a police officer two years ago. He could get up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Dallas ISD Teachers Get $150,000 in Gift Cards. An anonymous donor wanted to give $150,000 to DISD teachers making a difference. Seven campuses in the Accelerating Campus Excellence Initiative were the recipients, and more than 300 teachers and staff received $400 Target gift cards.

Police Shoot Dog that Attacked Two People in Oak Cliff. Yesterday morning, a man and a woman were attacked by a dog when they tried to feed it at a home on Ramsey Avenue. The man got away, but the woman underwent an attack for about 30 minutes. Dallas Police had to shoot the dog to get it to stop, and the woman sustained injuries that could require an amputation.

R.I.P. Sgt. G.M. Tippit, Dallas Police Department’s Oldest Retiree. Gayle Marshall Tippit, the DPD’s oldest living retiree, died Tuesday at the age of 96. He worked in the department for 30 years and also was an acquaintance of Jack Ruby, whom he met while working with the Special Service Bureau that investigated narcotics and vice.
