Dallas Congressman Meeting Today with Trump. Jeb Hensarling is meeting with the president-elect today, amid speculation that he’s on Trump’s short list for Treasury Secretary. Hensarling is the chair of the House Financial Services Committee. He’s also a friend of Mike Pence, although he said he hasn’t spent more than a half hour with Trump before.

Dallas Police and Firefighters Will Wait More to Vote on Pension Benefit Cuts. Yesterday, a judge gave the Dallas Police and Fire Pension more time to prove its expansion of its board of trustees was legal. This comes after a lawsuit from five police officers and firefighters that aimed to stop members from voting on benefit cuts.

First Summit on Homelessness in Collin County. The Collin County Homeless Coalition held its first such event yesterday in McKinney. The goals were to raise awareness connect people working to tackle homelessness. Coalition chairman Stacy Brown said most homeless people living in Collin County aren’t on the street; they’re sleeping in vehicles or on couches or storage units.

Judge Rules that CEO of Backpage.com Shouldn’t Face Pimping Charges. Although the California attorney general said Dallas-based Backpage was “essentially operating as an online brothel and generating millions of dollars off the illegal sex trade,” a Sacramento County judge said yesterday that the Communications Decency Act gives immunity to website operators for content posted by users, and that this is a problem for Congress to solve. But the judge will hear more briefs from attorneys and make a final decision by December 9.

Two Women Arrested for Theft at Highland Park Village. Yesterday, a woman was arrested after stealing a handbag from Giuseppe Zanotti in Highland Park Village, but not before she managed to shatter the glass door on the way out. Another woman thought to be the getaway driver was also arrested.

Cold Front Coming Tomorrow. After record heat this month, it’ll finally feel more like sweater weather.
