Man Arrested For Shooting Woman Over iPhone 7. Martha Teran met Lonzell Hunter Sunday evening at the Medieval Times parking lot to sell him an iPhone 7. Teran’s son and daughter watched as Hunter shot their mother in the stomach and fled in a car. Hunter was arrested Wednesday for capital murder. The two had connected via the OfferUp app, which is billed as being a less sketchy way to buy and sell—users have to create profiles and all communication goes through the app. Yet as this story proves, you never know what can happen when meeting strangers.

Police Ambush Memorial Needs Your Dollars. Over the last four months, Dallas Public Library volunteers have started archiving the many items left in front of the DPD headquarters in honor of the officers killed in the July ambush. Their problem, however, is that they need archival materials (acid free boxes, etc.) to properly preserve items. The Friends of the Dallas Public Library started a Go Fund Me page in hopes of collecting $75,000 for materials. Surprisingly, only $200 has been raised, as of this morning. North Texas Native Wins Big at CMA Awards. Originally from Arlington, Maren Morris won applause for the performance of her breakout hit “My Church” at the CMA Awards on Wednesday. She also scored the award for New Artist of the Year, often a launching pad for mega-stardom. If country isn’t your cup of tea, try her cover of Beyonce’s “Halo.
