Looking for a property with a little pedigree? This is the place for you. Back in the 1920s, this was home to the Dallas Polo Club. Legendary oil magnate Clint Murchison bought 350 acres in 1930 so that his three young sons could have a little room to run around. In the beginning, things were a little wild—animals were permitted inside and out. By the late 1930s, however, Murchison was ready to raise the sophistication level. He hired architect Anton Korn. The result: a house slightly longer than a football field. Which is perfect, because his son Clint Murchison Jr. was the founder of the Dallas Cowboys.

The estate stayed in the family for many years but was eventually sold in the late 1980s, and the land was converted into a lovely gated community. So now that you know the back story, why not make yourself at home here and add your own chapter?
