Lisa Petty, DFWStyleDaily.com’s fearless editor-in-chief, tackles everything from celebrity interviews to local style commentary on her online fashion publication. What keeps her going from journalist-by-day to event-host-by-evening? The key might be in the contents of her purse. Take a look.
1. Snacks. “That’s It” apple & pear bar, Whole Foods 365 chocolate squares, and homemade pita chips. “I’m trying to eat a little healthier right now to keep up my energy. I actually made these pita chips myself. It’s one of the few things I can manage to cook these days, without setting something on fire.”
2. Red chinoiserie notebook. “I’m a writer at heart, so I always keep something close at hand to write on.”
3. Pink silk Golden Palace charm. “This is a souvenir from my trip to the Golden Palace in Kyoto, Japan. I like to think it brings me good luck, and it reminds me of that amazing, life-changing trip.”
4. (clockwise from top) Estée Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee in in “Topaz Chameleon” (“This bronzer is really great for fair-skinned girls like me. It adds a lovely glow, without veering into Snooki territory.”), Estée Lauder Pure Color lipstick in “Orchid Dream,” Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin cologne, Joe Malone Grapefruit body creme, and Trish McEvoy Irresistible lip gloss in “Gold Shimmer” (“My six-year-old niece Abby picked this out for me. She has a fashionable future ahead of her, that girl.”).
5. Flower lei. “This is part of my prep for a big, vacation-themed event we’re co-hosting at Mockingbird Station on March 29th. There will be plenty of fashion and music poolside at The Lofts.”
6. DFW Style Daily business cards.
7. Sequin coin purse. “I gave these little coin purses as gifts over the holidays, and they were a big hit.”
8. Banana print H&M make-up bag with tropical-scented wet wipes. “H&M’s quest for world domination apparently extends to the toiletries department–who knew?”
