If you love the playful (but tasteful) look of sexy vintage pin-up girls like I do, you’ll be as excited as I am that old-school pin-up photography is available here in Dallas! Through the Looking Glass Studio, headed up by photographer Shoshana Portnoy, pays homage to the artform by recreating it in modern ways. Make an appointment with her, and you’ll be made over by a hair and makeup expert and posed like a bombshell. If a photo of you in sweet lingerie isn’t the perfect Valetine’s Day gift for your significant other, I don’t know what is. For details, pricing, etc., check out her site. To receive your photos back before Valentine’s Day, book an appointment by Tuesday, February 8. Email [email protected] or call 214-232-4271 to set it up.

Why should you choose Through the Looking Glass Studio for this little adventure? Jump for the answer.

I spent quite a bit of time looking up local photographers who could produce a sweet photo for Valentine’s Day for me. (Read: sweet, not Playboy-ready.) We have a lot of talent in our city. (Like, a lot.) But the pin-up look that I love so much is the old-school kind. Pretty smiles, innocent poses, playful scenarios, etc. I looked through the portfolios of about 10 boudoir photographers in the area, and Through the Looking Glass Studio is the only one I can find who has the classic pin-up thing as its area of expertise. If you want to go Playboy style, do it, but for something totally unique, check out Shoshana.
