When most people think of seersucker they envision it on yuppie-types as they play tennis and lunch at the country club. Full suits on men, or skirts and matching blazers for the ladies have been de rigeur for years. But thanks to some innovative designers (and the store owners who are buying their pieces), this season’s seersucker trend is pushing the envelope. They’ve managed to actually combine other current trends with traditional seersucker to create innovative garments with a fashionable flair. For example, while perusing the stores this week, I found a military-inspired dress, a one-shoulder top, a dress with ruffles and an asymmetrically pleated strapless number.
