Went to Devi Kroell presentation with Kristie Ramirez, Texas Monthly’s Fashion Editor. The designer, who got her start in exotic skin handbags, followed by shoes in 2006 and ready-to-wear in 2009, presented at collection with vibrant prints and gleaming fabrics. Think Alice in Wonderland meets Michael Jackson-the designer mentions both as influences in her notes. Loving the signature II pants. As for bags, Kroell has worked neoprine and oragami leather into the mix with the introduction of the “stylist” bag (a great basic). Shoes were high and mighty, in metallics and bright colors (pink & orange). The collection is available in Dallas at Stanley Korshak and they are opening a boutique in Houston soon. Bag Snobs, Tina Craig and Kelly Cook were there too, no doubt spotting a few must-have bags for the season.
