My New Favorite Moisturizer (The Answer May Surprise You)

|

No, it’s not an astronomically priced-per-dollop potion sold only at fancy department stores and extravagant beauty boutiques. And believe me, I’ve tried them. I’m a recovering Chanel Precision Beaute Initiale Serum addict. Unfortunately, my pocketbook couldn’t afford the habit, so I had to move on. My search for a new, more wallet-friendly moisturizer began with a call to my aunt, who had recently undergone a facelift. She went to her dermatologist (in Miami, FL) to get some skincare recommendations. After a surgery like that, you’re willing to spend a pretty penny on whatever the doc says. So, what did he say? Jump for my new favorite moisturizer.

Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15

That’s right. The 10-dollar, buy-it-at-any-CVS-WalGreens-Target, pick-up-some-Haribo-gummi-bears-and-a-D-Beauty-cause-you’ve-got-extra-cash, Aveeno moisturizer. And here’s why I love it.

I hate moisturizers with SPF. I know, I should always wear sunscreen, but I just hate the way it smells, and it always feels greasy. Hate it. But I went ahead and bought the Aveeno. On first application, I thought I’d made a big mistake. It had the faint smell of suncreen, and I sensed a twinge of that greasy feel on my face. But within a few minutes of drying, both worries were long gone. I felt my smooth, soft face, and I was sold.

Now, I’m not saying I won’t splurge every once-in-awhile on the fancy stuff. But it’s nice to know there’s a great product out there that won’t break the bank.

Now, tell me. What’s your favorite moisturizer?
