I just received a text message from Nancy, who’s in Dubai riding camels, and eating nachos, or something along those lines. She said that a big name is going to fill Brian Zenner’s clogs at Oak. Yes, clogs. Her words, not mine. So I hopped on the phone with Zenner to get the details.

“I gave them my notice last week, things are progressing,” Zenner explains. He gave the restaurant until April, but things could move more quickly. “They’re bringing on John Tesar.” I reached out to Tesar about the situation, his response: “I can not confirm nor deny….”

In the meantime, Zenner is overseeing the opening of two new Dallas restaurants: On Premise (Elm Street) which is slated to open in early March, and Mitchell (located in the old Chesterfield space), which will open at the beginning of February. Keep an eye on SideDish for more details to come.
