With holiday cheer spreading thicker than Uptown pomade, you need a friend to ease your mind and make your week joyful. I know just the friend. It comes in a pint glass and this particular version is fresh from the oven.
You may recall a while ago I interviewed the fine folks from Texas Ale Project. Well, the beer has finally made its way to the taps. The first is named Fire Ant Funeral. It’s an American Amber Ale. It’s got a hearty bitterness that diminishes quickly into a soothing fruit forward hop finish. It’s a clean and bright palate commander with enough complexity to keep you on your toes but enough drinkability to please anyone.
I sat with Damon Bird from Lark on the Park (just one place you can find this beer right now), and he commented on the caramel, rich malt and citrus notes. He said that they love it for its food friendliness. The folks at Texas Ale Project have “adept hop utilization,” as Damon notes. The other offering that may or may not be on the tap at this time is called The Naked Truth. It’s an American Wheat Ale. I have not tried this one yet but I see a happy hour in my future.
Get out there and get your mouth on these outstanding beers. Texas Ale Project will be making some heavy handed moves into our local beer arena and it’s awesome to see the level required of new breweries just to play in our competitive market. Beer.
