Ulysses Galvan has worked alongside Dude, Sweet Chocolate’s Katherine Clapner since her days at Star Canyon in 1999. “He’s my rock,” Clapner says of her sous chocolatier. “I wouldn’t be able to do this without him”

Galvan was diagnosed with leukemia several years ago. The medication he has been taking is no longer effective. He needs a bone marrow transplant.

Galvan has three boys and has been unable to work. Luckily, his two-year old son is a match and will donate the bone marrow. His medical bills are astounding.

The always generous Dallas-area restaurant community is rallying to raise money to offset Galvin’s financial woes. They are hosting The Sunday Chef Mix, an event on Sunday, March 9th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 3015 Trinity Groves, 3015 Gulden Lane. Tickets are only $50 plus one bottle of wine per person. RSVP or make a donation (or both!) by contacting [email protected].
