From the copy and past press release department:

August 9, 2010 – Iconic Deep Ellum restaurant, the Green Room, is open to the public and serving dinner Tuesday through Saturday evenings. When the Green Room originally opened in 1994, it offered a fine-dining experience in an eclectic, affordable environment. Upon its reopening, its owners, Green Room Partners, LLC, aim to reintroduce that same experience but updated for a new decade.

“We felt that Deep Ellum was ripe for a turnaround, and since the original Green Room
closed with such good will, we believe its rebirth will be a significant contribution to an overall neighborhood revival,” said Taylor Allday, managing partner of Green Room Partners, LLC. “A clean, modernized appearance and streamlined management philosophy will make the most of positive past experiences, as well as improve the overall experience for returning and first-time patrons. We want to maintain the Green Room’s reputation for providing a high level of food and service but at reasonable prices.”

Green Room Partners, LLC is fronted by two members of the original Green Room
management team, including former Green Room manager Taylor Allday, and Zenon Oprysk, former Green Room general manager and an ex-manager at Trees and Gypsy Tea Room.

Joel Harloff has been named executive chef and created a dynamic menu featuring
modern American cuisine with European influences that will change regularly, not just seasonally.

Green Room favorites like the Feed Me/Wine Me dinners and an eclectic wine menu will return, as well as Deep Ellum’s favorite gourmet pizzas.

“To be a part of the team bringing a restaurant that was long considered a Dallas icon
back is an honor and a challenge in itself. The timing is perfect, and I welcome both,” says Green Room Executive Chef Joel Harloff.

Harloff has been associated with many four- and five-star restaurants in his home state of Wisconsin, as well as in New York and Texas. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, he has had the honor of winning the 2002 Sur la Table Iron Chef competition, cooking at the James Beard House in New York, and being recognized by The Dallas Morning News as a “Rising Star Chef of 2001.” In the Dallas area alone, Harloff has served as sous chef at Bistro 1401 and Nana Grill, and Executive Chef for Mi Piaci, the Landmark at the Melrose Hotel, and Dali Wine Bar.

Additionally, Harloff will be developing a specialized seasonal menu for the legendary rooftop deck, which will be extensively landscaped this fall. A significant change from the original Green Room will be a dedicated lunch service Monday through Friday and an extended brunch service on Sundays, which will launch this fall.

The Green Room will be open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. During the month of August, guests are invited to bring in their own wines to be paired with the Feed Me dinners.

The restaurant is located at 2715 Elm Street, Dallas, Texas 75226. For more information,
