Friday Fun with ID Collection’s Jim Williamson

I am in a terrible mood. My friend, ID Collection’s Jim Williamson, is also in a terrible mood. This week’s missive is all about trying to right that wrong. Happy Friday. I know lots of people are happy today—what with the new park opening, autumn attempting to arrive (again,) and Halloween upon us. There is so much for most people to look forward to this weekend. I am not most people. In fact, I am down right grumpy. Maybe one too many cancellations and missed RSVPs on my calendar has put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door. On top of that, instead of my hair looking all cool and  1950s- like today, I look more like the rebirth of my high school yearbook. The only thing that could make life sadder today would be donning a male version of culottes and listening to the coffee-house version of Lisa Loeb’s “Stay” on repeat for 12 years.

In an attempt to shake off the humeur terrible, I turn to Sarah Templin, principal and designer of Radica Textiles, for a dose of happy. Her fresh approach to textile design and her awesome color palette make the even the grouchiest curmudgeons feel just a little bit better. From her boutique studio in Baltimore, Sarah brings your textile dreams to reality via her original, hand-drawn, and screen-printed designs. I think her background in fine art and design has definitely been put to good use.  She is super nice and loves to work on custom designs. She has even designed custom etched bottles for small batches of infused vodka. What’s not to like about this woman? Bonus: all her products are made in the United States.

Thanks to Sarah for bringing some sunshine to our day.
