Amazon Prime members in Dallas now can get one-hour delivery from local restaurants via the Prime Now app and website.
The company is providing free delivery on all orders. The service is launching in Dallas and Manhattan on Monday and joins Baltimore, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles, which already have the offering.
Dallas area restaurants participating in the service include Blue Goose Cantina, Deep Sushi, Fireside Pies, Grub Burger Bar, Terilli’s Restaurant and Bar, and more than 50 other eateries.
Amazon Prime joins a slew of other restaurant delivery options in the Dallas area, including UberEATS, which also offers one-hour service and an extended array of options after spinning off into a free-standing mobile application in March.
Amazon Prime initially debuted the food service in Seattle in September of 2015. It has since been rolling out to other major markets across the U.S.
Amazon Prime is priced at $99 and offers customers unlimited two-day shipping for free. It also has expanded to include access to tens of thousands of movies and TV shows, more than one million songs and thousands of playlists and stations via Prime Music.
While Amazon builds its offerings in Dallas, it also has grown its presence in the region. Last month, the company announced plans to open a 1 million-square-foot distribution center in Haslet. The facility, expected to employ 1,000 people, represents the company’s sixth fulfillment center in Texas and the fourth in Dallas-Fort Worth. Amazon employs more than 8,000 people at its Texas facilities, including three located in Coppell, Haslet, and Dallas.
