Don’t worry, the watermelon won’t feel a thing. Later, you might not, either. There’s no formal recipe for spiked watermelon, which involves injecting a watermelon with liquor, so be creative. Vodka is the standard embalming fluid, and that makes sense to us. We suggest two cups’ worth, but adjust the dosage to taste. A little triple sec gives the fruit a nice orange flavor. The melon needs to sit refrigerated for several hours after it gets its booster so that the liquor can be evenly absorbed. Most pharmacies and animal hospitals sell syringes without a prescription.
