When Josh Venable was laid off from his gig at the Edge last year, he took his long-running (and much beloved) specialty show The Adventure Club with him. Since then, he’s found a new radio home in L.A. But on Sunday, the show finally returns to local airwaves, at a new time (8-11 pm). More on that, and JV’s popularity among the incarcerated, after the jump.

Josh: This Sunday night. New time 8P-11P
12:22 PM me: that was fast. does it feel weird that six months after you were laid off, you’re basically doing the same job–a weekday shift and the ac on sundays?
12:23 PM Josh: Not really. It feels right to me. It’s all I had known for close to fifteen years.
So this actually feels like it’s going back to normal
me: how happy will the prison community be?
12:24 PM Josh: I would guess this will be like a conjugal visit on Christmas to them.
The AC was very popular with inmates.
12:25 PM I used to get some of the most amazing letters from all over the state. People saying that the AC was the only thing they looked forward to all week.
12:26 PM me: that’s good for you. you’d never survive in prison otherwise.
Josh: Not at all. If I ever went inside I could only hope to be sent to a prison with a large AC following.
12:27 PM There is a federal one in FW that seems to have more AC fans that any other (based on letters)
me: is there anything different about the l.a. version of the ac?
12:28 PM Josh: I added one new feature called Five Random Questions
that’s the only thing.
