I Don’t Know, Butchie, Instead

|

If you don’t watch John From Cincinnati, I apologize for the title of this post and, I guess, the post itself. I do watch, generally a day late on TiVo, and I hope my faith is rewarded when the first season wraps up on Sunday. For the most part, however, I don’t really care where it’s going. I mainly tune in for the scenes featuring the supporting characters, especially anything involving Ed O’Neill’s Bill Jacks. Also among my favorites: Stephen Tobolowsky‘s oily hospital lawyer and Jim Beaver‘s damaged vet, Vietnam Joe. You no doubt already know that Tobolowsky’s a Dallas boy — went to HillcrestKimball, jammed with Stevie Ray, and so on and so forth. Beaver, as it turns out, is a former local, too. He was born and raised in Irving, and spent five years with the Dallas Shakespeare Festival. If the last four or so sentences came off as an excuse to get some JFC chatter going, well, it totally was. I regret nothing.
