Tim, I think there is a point to returning the Katies for 2006, and D should return all of them from that year. They are bogus and an insult to every publication or individual who “won” or even entered. It will be difficult to call for reform of the Katies or the Press Club without being cleansed of the taint. I guarantee it’ll feel better.
The Star-Telegram did the right thing and now let’s hope that the example is followed. D should take the lead in the nonnewspaper categories and see who joins us. And we need to be prepared for what the Press Club investigative panel says about the 2005 awards, too. Wick? Your call.
