EATZI’S STAFF IS WORRIED

|

I stopped by today for a late lunch. There was no one manning the salad bar, only one guy making sandwiches, long lines forming everywhere, chaos impending I tell you. I wondered if the light staff had anything to do with the government cracking down on employers who hire immigrants.

Cliff Smith, the CEO of Eatzi’s, said about eight people have left the company recently, all of them worried about the government questioning their citizenship. Smith assures me Eatzi’s is working to keep all employees it can, but says the problem isn’t limited to his joint. “There seems to be a lot of panic in Dallas in the restaurant community,” he says.
