When I learn a new word, I try to find ways to casually drop it into a conversation – or in blogs!
Technically, the word “hyperlocal” can’t be found in the dictionary. (If it’s not on Merriam-Webster.com and my computer just underlined it, I’m calling its bluff.) But I still like it, and I still want to share it with you right here and now on the D Home blog, Plus, I have the perfect excuse! Wait for it…
In lieu of Merriam-Webster, I’ll provide you with the Wikipedia definition: Hyperlocal connotes information oriented around a well-defined community.
Now let’s use in a sentence: D Magazine’s Neighborhood Guides just recently launched along with an amazing letterpress poster by Lilco Letterpress featuring hyperlocal icons from some of our favorite Dallas ‘hoods.
***If you too believe this poster to be awesome, enter to win one here, or if you can’t wait, buy it here now.
There you have it! New term shared. Perfect excuse demonstrated. My job is complete.
