Four Corners Brewery is partnering up with Cook Hall’s chef Rick Graff for a five-course beer dinner. Enjoy passed radish toasts paired with Local Buzz Golden Ale. Three of the courses will include a baby octopus salad with rosemary and olives paired with Paletero Pale Ale, braised short rib with fried summer squash paired with Red’s Roja American Amber, and the stout beer sundae with Block Party Robust Porter for dessert. Saturday
Drink coffee, donate dinero because you’re a good person, and help Oil and Cotton dole out scholarship money. The pop-up coffee shop (provided by Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters) will be held at Oil and Cotton’s store at 10 a.m. Just bring your favorite coffee mug, and you’ll be gold.
The White Rock Local Market is hosting “In Heaven There is No Beer” at 11 a.m. inside the First Unitarian Church of Dallas. This home brewing 101 is the last of the market’s summer workshop series. You’ll learn from some of best Texan brewers, try different brews, and learn a technique for home brewing. Follow the link for more info.
Celebrate the Deep Ellum Market’s third year of existence from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2633 Main Street. The market will be indoors this time, but will still have all the fun of an outdoor festival – live music, food, and a petting zoo. (This is tempting, even though I spent far too much time in the zoo at Taste of Dallas).
Sunday
Another third timer: BeerBQ. Stop by to enjoy some of Texas’ finest microbreweries as they show off what some people might refer to as the fifth element (after water, earth, fire, and wind). The featured breweries were handpicked and include Deep Elum Brewing Co., Lakewood Brewing Co., Rahr & Sons Brewing Company, and a few more. Real Ale Mysterium Verum will special release four tappings throughout the day. Speaking of beer, can’t forget the sixth element: food. There will be plenty of barbecue to keep your alcohol tolerance up like smoked sausage, brisket, and dessert options.
