Was That the Best Time of Year to Go? The weather is very much still summer-like, and the discounts are amazing this time of year, especially after all the summer traveling is over.
Why I Went There: Got an amazing deal for a trip of a lifetime from vacationstogo.com. Ended up on a Spanish cruise line. Even though I don’t speak Spanish, it was a great trip. I’m a bargain hunter. The minute I find a sweet deal, I order tickets, and then ask questions.
Who Went With Me? An ex! Even though we’re not together, we travel great together.

The cruise began in Barcelona, and we visited Nice (France), Monte Carlo (Monaco), Florence (Italy), Pisa (Italy), Rome (Italy), Naples (Italy), Pompeii (Italy), and Tunisia.
Eat Here: Fried sardines in Barcelona. Awesome. Still crave them.
Play Here: Las Ramblas in Barcelona. Otherwise, save the play time for the cruise ship at nights, and just see as much as you can see during the day.
If I Went Again: Spend more time in Spain. The people we met on the cruise ship told us a ton of awesome places to see in Spain the next time we go.
How Did You Get There From Dallas? Flew American Airlines from DFW Airport to London. Spent about 10 hours in London, then took British Airways to Barcelona. Spent two days in Barcelona before jumping on the cruise ship.
Other Tips For Fellow Travelers: This is everyone’s dream vacation. Don’t put this trip off and think of it as something you should do when you retire, wait for the kids to leave, or whatever excuse you can think of. You should be young and fully conditioned to be able to take the treks that are available for such a sweet deal. It’s all about getting the most bang for your buck. Overall, I spent less than $2,000 for a 10-day vacation that included the world’s most amazing cities. This was my first cruise ever, and I can’t wait to book another one soon.
