With NO budget, that’s how. Yesterday I met up with Neiman Marcus Downtown’s public relations duo, Jeny and Jennifer, to talk fashion for the upcoming ShopTalk + StyleSheet + Neiman Marcus fall trends fete next week. (Have you RSVPed yet?) Let me tell you how much fun it is picking out several outfits without a budget and with three floors of to-die-for designer clothing to choose from, plus all the shoes, jewelry, and handbags you can handle. Best part is that we have a mix of things that are very affordable. If you’re attending our event, I think you’ll be thrilled with the lady-like details (bows and blouses galore) and gorgeous fall colors (lots of bordeaux and bright solids for colorblocking) that’ll be on display for your viewing pleasure. Continue reading to see behind-the-scenes photos of yesterday’s fall shopping session. All photography by Matthew Shelley.

*Update: We have closed registration. Looking forward to seeing all of you who RSVPed!

Bows and combat boots. Kate Spade dress, left.

Kate Spade top. Pair this with some high-waisted, boot-cut trousers. Colorblock dress by DVF, right. Wear this piece as is to work, or throw a cropped blazer or leather jacket over this dress and pair it with booties for a funky twist.

Bordeaux is THE color for fall fashion at Neiman Marcus. See Elie Tahari’s leather skirt. Pair it with pussybow blouses, sheer tops, draped cardigans, whatever. On right, Rachel Zoe’s got a versatile faux-fur vest that can be paired over anything. I like the all nude look with super feminine tie-at-the-neck blouses, and tailored trousers. Take off the fur for a great transition-to-fall outfit you can wear immediately.

Oh, sweet shoes. Bordeaux t-straps, blue suede, sky-high pumps. Sigh.

Love the twist on the classic lady-like handbag by Givenchy. It’s got a unique shape and comes in a beautiful deep purple, too. Chunky gold is the go-to statement for jewelry.

LOVE the jean collection in jewel tones and autumn-inspired hues. Pair them with sexy pumps and girly blouses or solid black like you see here. This takes no thought and immediately looks great.
