Local designer, Julie Michel, has combined her passion for art with her love of fashion to create a line of dresses and skirts that are truly unique. Utilizing a heat transfer process, Michel dyes her modern art onto polyester fabric to create garments that are not only chic but fun and wearable too. And don’t let the word “polyester” scare you; it’s come a long way since the itchy, ugly leisure suits of the seventies and I can assure you (I have one of her skirts) that it is incredibly soft and comfortable. And, even better, it’s machine-washable and doesn’t wrinkle! Prices range from $175-$185 and Michel is offering ShopTalkers an on-going 10% discount on all of her pieces. Just email her at [email protected] to let her know you read about her on ShopTalk and to tell her which garment you’re interested in (see additional dresses after the jump).
