Castle Gap Celebrates its Creator’s 90th Birthday (With a Sale)

If you grew up in Dallas, there’s a good chance you grew up wearing Castle Gap. For those of you who didn’t, let me fill you in. This Dallas-based jewelry store was started by Maxine Bennet way back in 1973. All jewelry is genuine sterling silver. Some are even handcrafted (think southwestern chic). Most of her selection is easy on the wallet, with a few luxe exceptions. I’m drooling over this pair of turquoise teardrop chandelier earrings (pictured left).

Now that you’re caught up with the rest of us, come stop by Maxine’s 90th birthday celebration at the Castle Gap location in Plaza at Preston Center. Did I mention it’s a week-long celebration? (Birthdays should always last a week). Reasons to come: birthday cake, 20 percent discount off all merchandise, and if you’re lucky, a quick chat with Maxine about her worldly travels and how she stays young at 90. Need I say more? This sale lasts through February 27.
