Author Candace Bushnell, the woman who introduced us to Carrie Bradshaw and her Sex and the City brethren, has a new book coming out. And, coincidentally, she’ll be in our neck of the woods in a couple of weeks for a talk, interview, and reading presented by The Writer’s Garrett. Bushnell’s appearance, which will be hosted by longtime local writer and editor Catherine Cuellar, is October 2 at 7:30 pm at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. Buy tickets here. You can also learn more about the new book, One Fifth Avenue, here. Looks fun, for sure, but can anything trump the mega-popular Sex? Probably not. But speaking of Sex, I just watched one of my favorite episodes last night. It’s the one where the girls go to L.A. and Carrie meets a scoundrel played by Vince Vaughn. I love Vince. And I love Carrie. And I really love that lightning bolt necklace she wears with her white shorts! (Here’s a clip from that episode. Apologies for the Spanish.)
