The simple act of arranging flowers isn’t just about aesthetics. Putting together a pretty bouquet can be therapeutic, and could even brighten your life (in addition to your entryway). For budding florists, here are a few local workshops to continue your stem education.

Fall Fashion & FloralsSomeone Holding Flower Bouquet

Floral company Alice’s Table (as seen on Shark Tank) trains women to become business owners via floral parties. Luckily, it has spread throughout Dallas with events all over town, including at Paper Affair and Leela’s Wine Bar. Check out this month’s fashion-centered fun at Nordstrom Galleria to learn step by step how to create a fall arrangement with host Sara Wilson.

Full schedule.

Drunk Gardening

Grab a girlfriend and a bottle of wine, and head to Deep Ellum’s Petal Pushers for its monthly DIY workshops. All skill levels are welcome to the 75-minute class. Even if you don’t have much of a green thumb, you’ll still have fun sipping while you learn tips and tricks for arranging freshly cut flowers.

Sep. 18, 7 pm. $65.

Fall Centerpiece Class

Raquel Lovern Harris, owner of R. Love Floral, leads seasonal classes year-round. This fall, learn to make a centerpiece as dreamy as Harris’ wedding creations. A two-hour class focuses on fall blooms, tones, and foliage, and Harris provides the flowers, supplies, light bites, and sips.

Nov. 18, 7 pm. $100.
